Donut & Sketching

This week took a huge turn on me when my older hamster, Donut, passed. Just about 2 years old, the little guy left from old age. I knew it was coming, but it was still sad. Even though he was a massive jerk and constantly grumpy, he was still cute and I still loved him.

After I packed Donut snugly in a shoebox with a white orchid I cut from my plant, I took a quick trip to Ocean Beach and buried him.

I haven’t been able to update this thing this week due to being busy with work and more work lately, but I’ve definitely been putting up my share of dailies on Daily PX as I continue practicing with digital sketching. I’m getting more and more used to the Bamboo Wacom stylus I have (see the sketch above) and I just received my iFaraday Artist Dome stylus yesterday in the mail, so I’ll have to play around with that as well.

  1. I’m so sorry to hear that Donut passed away. I bet your ceremony was lovely and I’m sure his life was awesome (even though the grumpy bits). Love & hugs to you. – S

  2. Thanks, Steph! Fortunately, I have a good bunch of Donut pictures that I was able to snap even on days he felt feisty (which was pretty much every day, haha). 🙂

Let me know what you think:
