Maker Faire 2019 setup
It’s been almost a year since I’ve given an update here, so just checking in to say I’m still alive!
In 2018, I took a break from big shows since I was learning a lot of new things since starting a new job at the end of 2017: no Maker Faire, no Comic Cons, no anime conventions. I took a lot of long weekend mini-vacations to various places I hadn’t been before (e.g. Portland, Seattle) and places I had (e.g. Yosemite, Los Angeles, etc). I did a lot of smaller one-day weekend events around the Bay Area through Sunset Mercantile in San Francisco and SJ Made in South Bay, then ended the year with the SJ Made holiday craft fair.
I recently finished up Maker Faire 2019 last week and hoping to do another weekend-long event some time this year before the holidays.
Between all the digital design and art I’ve been doing day-to-day, prepping for Maker Faire rekindled my appreciation to unplug and make things with my hands, without a screen. I’ve started playing around with other mediums and ideas and will try to start posting again on here with updates, but more likely to update more frequently on Twitter and Instagram!
